Eleven Years Of Knowing

. . . that plastics are not a good packaging material for foods. And we’re still doing it.

That’s all, actually. I can’t currently spend much time online so articles will be terse for a while, my apologies, see other posts for why.

There are and always have been ways of processing and distributing food hygienically and we’ve just been conned by supermarkets to accept plastics as “more convenient” but the omitted to tell us the convenience was all theirs as they didn’t have to train staff better or pay them more for their food handling hygiene expertise. You know, like replacing people with self-checkouts . . .

Thing is, at every step of the way the supermarkets assiduously avoid letting us know how much they’ve saved by doing these things, how much more profits they’ve accrued because of them, and most definitely failed to pass any of those cost savings on to us the customers.

When it gets so that you can’t affford to feed your family, clothe your family and house your family because the job you had has been downskilled, only one of you can find a job because of the automation meaning that your night fill job at the supermarket has been shut down, then there comes a point where you have nothing to lose by taking action against these greedy businesses and landlords and banks, and when that point comes for a certain tipping point of the population, life will be a bit brutal and marked by fires and riots.

I’m saying, start taking action right now. Write letters and emails to every and any public figure in such businesses, to your government representatives, ministers, and ombusdsmen. Vote against any politicians that allow those businesses to gouge so shamelessly. DON’T believe their pre-election promises because strangely enough, they do not have to tell the truth while campaigning. (True – look it up!) Go by what they do in office, that’s who they really are.

But let’s not get to the point of having to bar our doors from starving people trying to rob us (or becoming some of those starving people) and instead, act now to get things sorted out.
