Need Features

I’m trying to use all the features of this WordPress theme and getting frustrated – then I notice some features are disabled.

They’re missing because this WordPress theme is pretty good and supports images, but like all good things, it costs to get the full version. In Aussiebux™, around $80. From the creator’s website, it isn’t clear if that’s a one-time fee or a subscription, like so many other things are these days.

I would love to unlock the rest of the features – its versatility was one reason I chose the theme – but now I have to sit and twiddle my thumbs. And that’s because, hard as it is to believe, Your Editor doesn’t sit at the helm of a multi-million dollar media corporation. Instead, he’s an age pensioner, with zero other income, trying to run an anti-corporation activation media website. But I can’t do it without your help. I can’t afford the fee. I’d love to give the site that more professional look. I can’t afford to, and that’s the truth.

I’d also love to upgrade my Digital Pacific web hosting to a business web hosting package, because that comes with more space for media, more database capacity, more traffic capacity, and speedier response times. (Disclaimer: I pay for my DP and it’s one of the many costs associated with running this media mogul mayhem magazine – but is one of the costs I can’t escape if I want autonomy over what I post. And I chose DP because they’re a company I used for my clients back in the day, and they’ve always exhibited great reliability, great tech support, and a great willingness to work with even small fry like personal web hosting customers like myself to make things happen.)

And I buy materials for projects, then cover those with online posts so that others can duplicate them. These are handy projects like recycling plastic with inexpensive appliances and tools, allowing anyone to do the same at home; a way to attract earthworms into your garden bed and keep them fed with kitchen scraps; and some 3D printed items to take care of common household issues like securing a 4-port power board in a safe manner all the way to developing and making a small CNC setup that a plastic recycling home project can use to turn recycled plastic into useful valuable products.

All those sorts of things are available by looking back through my past articles, but one of my reasons for creating this aggregating site is that I’ll be able to include a section that collects all these useful projects. But I need to unlock the theme template for that to happen.

I have recipes, and ways to use common kitchen appliances in ways not usually imagined to save cooking time, or just use what appliances you have better. I buy many of these appliances to test things out for the recipe site, and also to develop recipes that are my own creation, and I share those. Also food news and research, and more. At least most of this I can accomplish with the status quo but the extra features couldn’t hurt.

And those are the reasons I really need readers to go to Ko-Fi.com or Paypal.me and send small donations, preferably monthly. I can assure you I’m not buying cigars and champagne with the donations I get, they currently cover maybe 2-4% of my total annual costs and that means 96-98% is still borne by yours truly.

So go on – help me make this site ever better for you without it becoming ever worse for me…
