Stats Spot September 2024

Going to try this, see if I can record a trend. I have a hitcounter on the blog, it’s not fancy but it’s cheap as in, free) and I’ve got it set up to not count various search engine spider bots so it gets close to the facts. It gives me basics such as how many visitors read the site each day, how many pages get read, and the rest I’m not so interested in so I don’t generally bother.

IF I remember, I’ll do this every few months or even monthly, the aim is to get that visitor figure up in the hundreds per day, and if it gets there by early 2025 I’ll be stoked because it means some of the more “activating” posts might get out there into the wider public eye.

By the way, the old blogs I’ve rolled up into this one have been ticking at about 2.4 visitors per day for years, and since combining then on The Globe here it’s been a slow but overall steady rise so I’ve got hopes for it to rise even further. And it’s only really been three months of the Globe and that includes moving hosting. I feel quite honoured to have a wider readership.

The best way you can help me achieve that is to use the Share buttons just below the posts, and donate on Ko-Fi or on Paypal. Seriously – donations help me to buy advertising on search engines, keep the site paid for without using my pension to do so. To pay for the server hosting platform, domain name registrations, subscription to news resources, and nuts and bolts stuff such as better newsletter software, discussion features, linking to other stuff like chat messaging apps and social networks.
