I received this charming email yesterday, asking me to link a page into an old existing page on my blog.
Hello,
— email received 2nd July
I’m Ms. Jxxx Wxxxx, a homeschool instructor. During discussions on the Sleep Insufficiency resources, we recently discovered your webpage (http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xx-december-2020/), finding it immensely helpful for our class.
Ada, one of my students, came across an article on Sleep Deprivation and thought it would be a great addition to your webpage:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/guide-to-sleep-deprivation
To encourage Ada’s creativity, I suggested sharing the article with you. We would be thrilled if you consider adding it to your page, even temporarily. Ada would be incredibly proud to see her research valued by a platform she admires.
Please let me know if you’re able to add her suggested article so that I can share the exciting news with the group.
Best regards,
Jxxx Wxxxx
Homeschool Teacher
So first of all the page referred to has nothing to do with sleep anything. Secondly, it’s four years old. Then – why? Why would I do this? Oh yeah – “to encourage Ada’s creativity.” Because “Ms Jxxx Wxxxx” has asked me to, and she is a figure of some authority, a “homeschool instructor” or a “Homeschool Teacher” if both her credentials are to be believed. I thought both of those just meant “parent?” Since that’s what home schooling is all about.
Be that as it may. There’s also these traces from my statistics collecting:

Pretty obvious that they keep a list on Google Docs and are going through it to mail out this spam about. Not so obvious is why – is it an SEO padding exercise?
Anyway – watch out, they’re out there…
