#Auspol: Bad Politics, Bad Collective Memory

As a week, it’s been a bit of a shitshow. First – publicity and patronage float this boat for me. Please Like, Share, and Donate. It really works and I really need to not have to pay costs out of pocket. Now back to the slaughter:

I wonder why we try so hard to bend over the indigenous population? And love Robo-destructo-the-poor and whole-of-hole control? I have a slightly cynical solution. Read to the end…

Linda Burney

A Senator in our government, Linda Burney is an indigenous woman who yelled at a king. (No capital letters for you, Charles! I didn’t vote for you!) I notice that the news I’ve seen has been laser-focused on how she dared to yell at a royalty we pay allegiance to but who are really less use than a skateboard wheel on a chariot.

What they seemed laser-focused to avoid is that no matter if she was “sworn in” to our Government, and was never anything to do with English royalty bullshit. She is in our Government as a Wiradjuri person who is a representative of the indigenous people.

Who, if anyone still gives a f**k, have a presence in Australia that goes back 60,000 years and do deserve a say in what happens on this country.

Banks using AI to assess home loans

Banks are playing with the use of AI to assess applications for home loans. Because AI has sort of become the tool of choice for punishing the less wealthy and downright poor of the country. Not that AI is of any actual f**king use because all the data sets they use are already heavily biased towards that kind of profiling and AI is just A and absolutely no I. Honestly – an Alice chatbot would be more fair.

FFSMS do people not remember Robodebt? The fact is that AI is just the bitcoin of the moment. It’s a scammy bit of shit that – just like bitcoin – keeps demand on the energy grid high. Do you think that’s a random coincidence? Whenever there’s a chance of catching up to the spiralling climate issues?

Actually, there I think I’m with the Lizard People conspiracy on this . . .

The Gilead Conjecture

Thank you Margaret Atwood for giving us that work of fiction that launched Gilead into the entertainment industry’s money machine. And which in fact foreshadowed the birthrate crisis we’re now experiencing all over the planet. Somehow that also makes more sense through a Lizard People lens . . . Hmmm . . .

But if you examine the issue of the overturning Roe v Wade (and now Australia is trying more of the same) in light of a fertility crisis and that whole “control of people’s reproductive processes” thing that people have been trying to inflict on other people for as long as – well, forever – then you can see that there can be times when it’s very handy, if also brutish and inhuman, because sometime you need to preserve every life.

Rapture Romper Room

Now. Lissen up children, because every fanatical religious maniac with aspirations to make “faux tan” the shade to match in governments – and I include our rabid authoritarian party halfwits who fancy themselves to be the Second Coming of Jeebus Trump – and who are all about taking reproductive control away from the populace are – well – really gullible religious nut cases who could be convinced to make their flocks also use one of these.

And the best part? If you could convince Trump that those booths are actually a newly developed Early Rapture Room” then he’d be among the first to order his faithful to get a headstart on those heathens that surround the on every front. And that could only be a Good Thing.

Just like the “marketing” being applied to Sen. Burney, just like the hysteria whipped up over bitcoin and now AI, you could literally plonk one of those down on every street corner and the religious zealots would flock to be the first to sit at the right hand of their deity before anyone else of those undeserving bastards got there first.

It’s always just a matter of marketing and – let’s face it – would probably not be a totally bad thing . . .

This is Your Editor, just trying to inject a bit of levity into Doomsday. Take what I said with a grain of sodium chloride, but keep it at the back of your mind in whatever you do. Did you know that the world has stopped absorbing carbon? Yeah – definitely think about that too . . .
