Sardines: Packing ’em in (aka Part 2)

A RETRACTION (of sorts):

You know what? I’ve mentioned how little sardines in a tin are as good for your health as any more highly valued species and said that no-one bothers to cheat with the cheaper varieties, but I have to take it back. Here’s why.

Apparently many manufacturers (this article mentions NZ but I’ll lay long odds that other companies around the world are also padding their product descriptions with – well, with bullshit.

The point I made in my previous article still stands, sardines and smaller cheaper fish species are as loaded with the good oil as the expensive ones and are less likely to be substituted with cheaper species because face it there aren’t many that are. Cheaper.

But it seems that people will go to any lengths to squeeze and extra couple of cents per tin from you.
