That was almost too smooth to believe. TEdASPHERE Globe is now on Skyrack Hosting,
an Aussie owned and operated hosting service. How smooth was it? This smooth:
I opened up my usual tabs, including the Globe home page. It loaded normally so I held off any updates, went off to make breakfast and a coffee, came back and reloaded the homepage and – noticeably faster. After a quick poke around I established that it as already on it’s new hosting address. And that was it.
Still have to manage the domain names etc and that might mean an actual hiccup in accessibility, but by and large we’re here. Thanks to all the people at Skyrack that made that happen, I hope to have a long stay here.
PS: Incidental to all this I discovered that my previous hosting service is no longer Australian owned or, for the most part, operated, which might explain the oddities I’ve been experiencing as a client there. Not to worry, they have been a part of my online life for over ten years cumulatively in the last two decades, that last of which have been the five years O Hai Corona and the Globe have been hosted there.
By the way O Hai Corona is not being updated until I sort out what to do with it. Any WordPress gurus out there that wants to possibly lend me a hand moving that into the Globe as a heading (category) let me know if you can talk me through doing that.
